Q:   How do view my account (items checked out, fines)?

A: Beginning with any new checkouts starting September 26, 2011, you will have access to a new account. Your username is your barcode number and you can obtain a password at the information desk. Call the New Castle Public Library for a password for your new Evergreen account. Once you have a password, you can log in from home to place holds, check your account, review your reading history, and, eventually, renew your items.

Using Your Account

From the main website (www.ncdlc.org), click on ‘My Account’ on the upper left. To log in, enter as username your library barcode – all 14 digits, beginning with 01902, without the ‘A’ or the ‘B’ at the end (if they are in your barcode). Enter the four digit password you were given from the library.

You are now in your personal account. If you want to place a hold, search for the item you want – either by using the ‘Advanced Search’ at the bottom of the page, or by ‘Browse Alphabetically’ or ‘Browse the Catalog.’ Once you have the record up, scroll to the bottom, and in the ‘Status’ column, you will click on ‘Place a Hold.’ Make sure your phone number is correct, and click on ‘Submit Request.’ You will then see the item in your holds screen.

You have additional options available to you on the right, under ‘Your Account.’ ‘Favorites’ are books that you’ve marked (you have this option at the top of each record). ‘Checked Out Items’ will show you what items you have out, and when they are due. ‘Holds and Recalls’ shows you what books you have on hold, and you also have the option cancel holds from this screen.

‘Fines’ will show you what fines you have, and for which titles. Your ‘Profile’ allows you to select your preferred library, from NCPL, Bessemer, or Ellwood City. Your ‘Saved Searches’ will show you recent searches, which you can then purge, or save.

As always, don’t hesitate to contact us if you have questions!

You may still access your My Millennium account until November 1, 2011. The password is the same you have been using. It will contain your reading history up until September 26, in case you would like to view and/or print it.

If you have any questions, stop in or call us at 724-658-6659, ext. 107.
